Senior Electrical Maintenance Specialist

Locations: Hammond/Gary/East Chicago - that area.

(one available in Austin, TX, too)

A multi-site chemical/manufacturing/distribution company needs two regional electrical field engineers/specialists to work with multiple operating plants in a region on electrical, power system, electrical reliability and troubleshooting.

Key Items:

  • Extensive experience in power distribution, switchgear, substations, etc
  • Medium voltage and ideally some high voltage
  • Induction and synchronous motors - ideally up to/over 20,000hp
  • Travel about 20% to plants in the area (some overnight)

 

Some Position Info:

  • Lead/supervise maintenance/reliability work for power/distribution at industrial facilities.
  • Work with medium to high-voltage systems at 3-5 plants in a region (20% or so travel)
  • Work independently at site, including knowing when to request
  • Work with all aspects of developing, implementing maintenance and reliability programs:
  • Power distribution, substations, transformers, etc, from 138Kv on down
  • The “usual” breakers, switchgear, relay systems, battery/UPS
  • Work with massive 15kv motors up to 20,000hp+, compressors, pumps, etc.
  • Reliability programs – oil analysis, IR thermography, discharge and power analysis, etc
  • Root cause analysis and corrective action plans
  • Assist with shutdown (aka turnaound) planning and electrical work

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with 13.8kv; up to 138kv useful but not required for consideration
  • Journeyman license is handy.
  • At least 5 years of experience maint/reliability with 5kv – 15kv in industrial setting
  • Associates in electrical engineering Tech/similar required.
  • Required: a lot of current experience in heavy industry, power, chemical, etc, plants.

 

Salary: At/over $110,000/yr - $120,000 salary plus overtime
