Territory Sales Representative - Safety equipment (B2B only)

Location: Port Washington 

A global manufacturer of custom fabricated safety equipment such as fall protection anchor points, rails, guards, etc. 

Position is combination office/inside sales and outside sales, learning it all, and possibly and moving into full territory management. 

 

Customer base: commercial construction, commercial roofing, cranes/lifts, warehouses, industries such as manufacturing, power and utilities, roads/bridges, etc. 

 

 

KEY THINGS (must have or won't be considered)

  • Live in the area so you can get to the Port Washington area
  • A couple years B2B sales in an appropriate industry. Fall protection is good but not needed
  • Experience selling something that is custom, not strictly off the shelf parts or something 
  • Some experience in outside sales, including some "hunting" for new business. 

Position:

  • Position is split between:
    • B2B outside sales - "Hunter" with technical/consultative approach
    • Work with National Sales Manager on customer support, writing quotes, doing followup 
  • Start with a territory of Sheboygan and then down to NW side of Chicago area. 
  • Work with company-provided qualified leads and find own leads; pursue both.
  • Work with company methodology and system - extensive training provided.
  • Perform site surveys to address issues - training provided. 
  • Surveys - will involve actually going on sites, measuring, checking their situation against regs, etc. Obviously - do it safely! Still, will climb to roofs and so forth. 
  • Prepare detailed quotations for site-specific engineered products to address issues (training provided)
  • Track all relavant activities in CRM (training provided)
  • Build indirect channels and partnerships that expand market reach.
  • Attend networking events

 

Requirements:

  • Experience working with and hitting or exceeding goals
  • 4+ years of experience selling directly into industrial, construction or safety markets (not thought channels)
  • Skilled with consultative selling - so find value, not just price.
  • Excellent communication skills - on sites, with customers, in presentations, etc

 

Type of person you need to be:

  • Creative problem solver for the customer and yourself
  • Provides solutions to a customer that is a value to them and best margin for company
  • Learn a business that is local up to national - lots of variety!
  • Ability to take measurements, prepare to scale hand sketches for estimating

 

Must be able to work legally in the U.S. without any visa requirements now or in the future.

 

Base is $60k - $70k; on target earnings will come to $100k - $110k.
