POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Plant Manager, the Quality Manager has the authority and responsibility to direct, coordinate & facilitate all aspects of Quality. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Customer Representative at FPC, serves as the overall manager for the EMS program which includes over sight of the system, representation during auditing or inspections, MOS monitoring & measurement, and general assistance, Company Quality Policies, New Launches, APQP, Continuous improvement activities, enforcing & maintaining IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 requirements, customer relations and the safety of all Team Members.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

General description of essential functions identified below:

  • Responsible for and has the authority to establish the duties & activities of positions that directly and / or indirectly report to him.
  • Participate in the selection, development, training and discipline of all Quality Team Members.
  • Supports and maintains IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 requirements to include reviewing internal & external customer data systems to obtain current information.
  • ISO 14001 internal audits; audits set-up to the most recent ISO 14001 standard as well as site-specific EMS requirements.
  • Prepares for & represents the company during all QMS and / or similar and related audits.
  • Authorized to represent the needs of the customer in internal functions in addressing QMS requirements for setting Quality Objectives.
  • Supports and assists in all corrective action & customer concern activities.
  • Review and analyze compliance to systems & procedures: PPAP, Internal Auditing.
  • Provide technical support to include data, recommendations, and results to other departments as needed.
  • Interacts with Customers, Corporate and Plant personal to resolve safety, quality and throughput concerns.
  • Supports continuous improvement and cost saving activities utilizing technical and quality related techniques.
  • Provides support for all quality functions within the plant, at any corporate facility or location and tooling or equipment shops.
  • Prepares & implements changes to improve plant measurable included in the Midway Operating System. (MOS)
  • Has the authority to stop production operations with respect to safety or quality concerns.
  • Participates in production and shift -to -shift meetings. Deliver expectations on issues that need specific attention in order to meet customer requirements as well make recommendations on how to accomplish the tasks.
  • Performs performance appraisals, recommending promotions or other changes in status of the Quality Team Members.
  • Adheres to all safety regulations.
  • Responsible for confidentiality, open and honest communications.
  • Treats all other Team Members with dignity and respect.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

College degree and or equivalent experience preferred.ASOC Certification (CQE, CQA or CQE) preferred.Prefer 4 years minimum experience in a quality management position in the automotive industry.Must be willing to travel.
