A national plaintiff’s litigation firm in Northern New Jersey is expanding its litigation team and seeking a Litigation Paralegal Manager to lead and oversee a team of skilled litigation paralegals. Supervise and manage the litigation paralegal team, overseeing assignments, workflow, and productivity.
Work closely with attorneys to identify staffing needs, prioritize assignments, and manage caseloads.
Train, mentor, and provide guidance to paralegals to enhance efficiency and performance.
Review and blue-book, cite-check, and proofread memoranda, briefs, and other legal documents.
Handle electronic court filings for complaints, briefs, memoranda, and affidavits in both state and federal courts.
Manage litigation documents, including PacerPro, NetDocs, Box, and ECFx, while maintaining case files and document databases.
Assist in pretrial and trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing witness binders, and maintaining case/trial calendars.
Draft legal correspondence and standard legal documents such as subpoenas, notices of appearance, and pro hac vice admission papers.
8-10 years of litigation experience, preferably in complex, mass tort, or class action litigation.
Prior experience managing or supervising a paralegal team.
Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
Expertise in federal and state e-filing systems (PACER/ECF).
Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw or Lexis for cite-checking and case research.
Experience with document management systems (Relativity or similar platforms) and the ability to adapt to new software.
Courtroom/trial experience preferred.
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree and a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-certified program preferred.
