A leading global law firm is seeking a Manager – Business Development (Litigation) to partner with senior lawyers and global business development teams in driving client growth, developing new business opportunities, and strengthening the Firm’s litigation profile.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute business development plans with Litigation Group partners.
- Identify new business opportunities, referral sources, prospective clients, and strategic sponsorships.
- Conduct research on companies, industries, litigation exposure, courts, regulators, and legal needs.
- Lead pitches, RFP responses, proposals, and other partner- and client-facing marketing materials.
- Oversee submissions for Chambers USA and other legal directories.
- Maintain and update practice materials, lawyer biographies, matter descriptions, and BD activity records.
- Guide partners in prioritizing high-value business development opportunities.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior BD team members.
- Coordinate with global BD teams to ensure consistent execution and information sharing.
- Collaborate with Communications, Events, Competitive Intelligence, and Creative Services on strategic initiatives.
- Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, information security, professionalism, and client service.
What You’ll Bring
- 7+ years of business development experience in a law firm, financial institution, or professional services environment.
- Prior experience supporting litigation practices in a top-tier U.S. law firm.
- Strong understanding of the litigation lifecycle, terminology, courts, and regulators.
- Experience with business writing and presenting to executive- and partner-level audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; JD, MBA, or relevant graduate degree is a plus.
- Excellent writing, editing, analytical, research, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, CRM, experience management, and research platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and a polished, professional presence.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a global team.
