Bookkeeper/Staff Accountant – Personal Injury Law Firm (NYC)

A growing Personal Injury Law Firm is seeking a Bookkeeper/Staff Accountant to join their team. This role is perfect for someone with QuickBooks expertise, experience handling IOLA accounts, and a strong background in trust reconciliations and legal accounting. The ideal candidate will work directly with the CFO and be eager to grow alongside the firm as it expands.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage IOLA accounts, including trust reconciliations and compliance.
  • Handle QuickBooks transactions, including invoices, expense tracking, and reconciliations.
  • Review and process Amex statements, vendor payments, and firm expenses.
  • Work closely with the CFO on financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Prepare client invoices and manage billing inquiries.
  • Meet with clients regarding billing and financial matters as needed.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with legal and accounting standards.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, preferably in a law firm or personal injury practice.
  • Strong QuickBooks skills and experience managing IOLA accounts.
  • Knowledge of trust accounting principles and reconciliation procedures.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with firm leadership.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good tenure in previous roles—stability is key.
  • Must be comfortable working in-office 5 days per week.

Compensation:

  • Up to $100,000, depending on experience.
