Real Estate Paralegal – Title & Survey
A leading law firm is seeking an experienced Real Estate Paralegal with strong title and survey experience to support attorneys handling sophisticated commercial real estate transactions. The ideal candidate will have 7–10 years of NJ/NY commercial real estate paralegal experience and a thorough understanding of title insurance, surveys, transactional documents, and real estate closings. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized professional who can independently manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced legal environment.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and coordinate commercial real estate transactions from contract through closing.
- Review commercial title commitments, surveys, zoning reports, and environmental reports.
- Prepare title and survey memoranda and draft title objection letters and responses.
- Prepare and review purchase and sale agreements, leases, loan documents, closing checklists, and title/survey summaries.
- Track critical dates and deadlines and keep attorneys and clients informed of upcoming requirements.
- Work with title companies, surveyors, lenders, escrow officers, and other third parties to resolve title issues and obtain final title policies and endorsements.
- Draft and review real estate and financing documents, including deeds, transfer tax forms, affidavits of title, UCC-1 financing statements, collateral descriptions, and escrow letters.
- Coordinate closings with attorneys, clients, lenders, and title/escrow professionals.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client and transaction information professionally.
What You’ll Bring
- 7–10 years of NJ/NY commercial real estate paralegal experience in a law firm.
- Thorough knowledge of NJ/NY title and survey matters and title insurance policies, forms, and endorsements.
- Familiarity with ALTA and CLTA endorsements for purchase, sale, and loan transactions.
- Knowledge of NJ Bulk Sale applications.
- Strong understanding of commercial real estate transactions and financing.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to independently manage a high volume of work and multiple transactions simultaneously.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365.
- Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
