Director of Scientific Affairs, Epidemiology

My client is expanding into a new area of biomarker technology and seeks a Director of Scientific Affairs, Epidemiology space to lead its work with large cohort and population studies.

The ideal candidate will take on the following responsibilities:

• Build relationships with biobanks, large cohort studies, government, and pharma teams.
• Advise customers on study design, compiling and harmonizing data across cohorts, and interpreting results.
• Identify unmet needs in population-scale biomarker research, and show where the technology can make an impact.
• Drive reference collaborations and scientific partnerships that lead to published papers.
• Collaborate with sales teams and field application scientists to identify opportunities and develop creative solutions.
• Bring insights from the field to R&D and product managers to help shape the product roadmap.
• Serve as a scientific spokesperson at conferences, and create and deliver webinars, blogs, and presentations.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

• PhD in epidemiology, biostatistics, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience compiling and analyzing biomarker data across large cohorts or biobanks.
• Experience with high-plex proteomic data is a major plus.
• Understanding of protein detection assays and their applications.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data to any audience.
• Business acumen, with a talent for building relationships and negotiating well.
• Creative, collaborative, and self-motivated, with a track record of taking initiative.
• High standards, close attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.

This role is also open to exceptional early-career candidates, including postdocs.

This position is remote and can be based anywhere in the US or Europe, with regular travel including some overnight stays.
