Director of Scientific Affairs, Vaccines

My client is expanding into a new area of biomarker technology and seeks a Director of Scientific Affairs focused on vaccines, with an emphasis on supporting customers' regulatory success.

The ideal candidate will take on the following responsibilities:

• Assist vaccine developers in generating immune-response data that supports their regulatory submissions.
• Build relationships with KOLs and decision makers in vaccine research across academia, industry, consortia, and government.
• Identify unmet needs in vaccine development, and show where the technology can advance immune-response profiling and immunogenicity assessment.
• Drive scientific partnerships with academic researchers that lead to published papers.
• Collaborate with sales teams and field application scientists as the vaccine subject-matter expert.
• Bring insights from the field to R&D and product managers to help shape the product roadmap.
• Serve as a scientific spokesperson at conferences, and create and deliver webinars, blogs, and presentations.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

• PhD, MD, or PharmD with vaccine experience in regulatory affairs.
• Strong understanding of protein detection assays, their development, and their applications.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Business acumen, building relationships and negotiating well.
• Creative, collaborative, and self-motivated, with a track record of taking initiative.
• High standards, close attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.

This position is remote and can be based anywhere in the US or Europe, with regular travel including some overnight stays.
