Energy Engineer

High Performance Buildings
Boston, MA| Hybrid

This is not a generic energy modeling role.

A respected New England engineering firm is hiring an Energy Engineer to shape how real buildings perform, not just analyze them after the fact. You will influence design decisions, guide decarbonization strategy, and drive measurable energy and cost outcomes across meaningful projects.

This role is built for someone who wants technical credibility, autonomy, and visible impact.

What you will own
• Energy modeling that directly informs building design
• Electrification, decarbonization, and renewable strategy
• Utility data analysis and life cycle cost optimization
• Energy code compliance and performance targets
• Clear, decision-driving technical reports
• Collaboration with architects and engineering teams on high impact projects

Why strong engineers choose this role
• Your work shapes real design outcomes, not theoretical studies
• Projects span healthcare, education, civic, and complex commercial work
• You get trust, flexibility, and technical respect
• Hybrid schedule with real work life balance
• Long term growth in a stable, engineering-driven culture
• A team that values depth, rigor, and practical problem solving

You are likely a fit if you have
• 5+ years in building energy modeling
• Experience with eQuest, DOE-2.3, or IES VE
• Knowledge of energy codes, electrification, and life cycle cost analysis
• Strong technical writing and attention to detail

This is a strong move for someone who wants their work to matter, influence design, and build long-term credibility in building performance.
