A growing A/E firm with strong New England reach is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC and building systems design for a diverse range of project types across commercial, municipal, healthcare, and industrial sectors.
This role is ideal for a licensed Mechanical PE who wants meaningful technical leadership, varied work, and impact from design through delivery. You will drive mechanical design, mentor engineering staff, and play a central role in project execution within a collaborative environment.
What you will lead
• Full HVAC system design for buildings of all types
• Load calculations, energy modeling, and system sizing
• Development of detailed mechanical drawings, controls diagrams, and specifications
• Coordination with architects, structural engineers, and multidisciplinary teams
• Construction administration including site visits, RFIs, and submittal reviews
• Quality control oversight to ensure design excellence
• Mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance
• Client engagement, project meetings, and presenting design solutions
• Contributing to proposals and technical reports

What you bring
• BS in Mechanical Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Eight or more years of mechanical design experience in an A/E environment
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC design software (e.g., Trane Trace, HAP)
• Strong knowledge of codes, energy efficiency standards, and sustainable design practices
• Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Preferred:
• LEED accreditation or other sustainable design credentials
