The VP of Operations will offer strategic vision and overall direction to help the company produce a high-quality product and meet operational goals/deliverables. This involves coordinating with managers across multiple departments to ensure that these departments operate smoothly and are on track to meeting the company's strategic plan.

 

Essential Job Functions/Duties:

  • Provides leadership, direction and mentoring while overseeing day-to-day activities for the manufacturing, process development, and supply chain staff, fostering a culture of professional growth and development while planning succession plan for key personnel.
  • Develops and executes the site operations strategy producing products manufactured to the highest quality standards in accordance with established procedures.
  • Develops policies and procedures for operational processes to ensure optimization and compliance with established standards and regulations.
  • Continuously monitors production requirements, production yields and associated actual spending, providing regular updates to corporate executive management.
  •  Assesses and implements new manufacturing technologies and processes based upon projected cost, reliability, and potential competitive advantage to the Company.
  • Promote LEAN training and concepts and direct the layout of the manufacturing lines to ensure efficiency.
  • Ensures operation, production milestones and performance metrics are being met, and Customer concerns are addressed.
  • Coach management team by building their soft skills as well as their technical knowledge and identify the capacity of current personnel.
  • Ensure collaboration, efficiency, and results in manufacturing operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, MBA, or master’s degree preferred
  • 15+ years of related experience
  • LEAN/Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Other required KSA (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities): Demonstrated ability in strategic process creation and implementation. Advanced knowledge of lean manufacturing systems processes. Strong background in goal deployment, strategic planning and building organizational capability. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. In depth understanding of OSHA regulations, policies and procedures. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
