Our client is looking for someone with good robotic welding skills.  Your strengths may be in either programming or maintaining the welding robots.  This role supports both production and engineering by combining hands-on technical troubleshooting with advanced programming and process improvement. The goal is to reduce rework, improve cycle times, and maintain high quality standards across all robotic welding operations.  You will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop, implement, and optimize robotic welding programs for new and existing parts, including transitions from manual welding to robotic processes
  • Perform initial tool and program runoffs, and collaborate with cross functional teams to validate and release parts into production
  • Troubleshoot robotic welding systems, debug programs, and respond to production support needs and service calls
  • Perform equipment setup, preventative maintenance, and ongoing support for robotic welding cells
  • Monitor and improve welding cell performance, including cycle time calculations and efficiency tracking
  • Work closely with Tooling Design and Manufacturing Engineering to develop new fixtures and improve existing ones
  • Identify opportunities for automation and recommend parts or processes suitable for robotic welding
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to investigate process failures, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous quality improvement
  • Recommend design and process changes to improve manufacturability, cost, and overall performance

 

What they are looking for:

  • High school diploma or GED required and 3+ years of experience in robotic welding within a manufacturing environment preferred OR associate’s degree or technical diploma in robotic programming, welding technology, manufacturing, or a related field preferred and some experience in robotic welding within a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience with robotic welding setup, programming, troubleshooting, and operation required
  • Experience with robotic systems such as Fanuc, CLOOS, IGM, UR, or ABB robots strongly preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and programming issues
  • Experience improving cycle times, reducing rework, and driving quality improvements
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and ability to work cross functionally
