What You'll Be Doing

Design new process technologies, plant expansions, retrofit projects, and process improvements for industrial biorefineries.

Prepare PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, process calculations, engineering design packages, and material and energy balances.

Design process systems for handling solids, liquids, and gases, and support process instrumentation and control system design.

Evaluate new technologies, analyze operating data, and recommend improvements that increase efficiency, improve reliability, reduce costs, and optimize product yields.

Troubleshoot operating issues and develop practical engineering solutions that improve plant performance.

Support commissioning, plant startups, and field troubleshooting at customer sites (approximately 20% travel).

Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout project execution.
What You'll Bring to the Job

Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

3 – 15+ years of process engineering experience in continuous chemical manufacturing, biofuels, ethanol, grain processing, food processing, or another continuous process manufacturing environment.

Multiple hires are planned in 2026 with salaries to fit various career levels from 3 years to Senior Engineer

Experience developing PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and engineering design documentation.

Experience using Aspen Plus, ChemCAD, or similar process simulation software.

Must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer without sponsorship now or in the future. A driver’s license is required for occasional travel to job sites.

Base salaries range from $110K to $160K + bonus. (And dollars go a long way in this geography.)
