About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to oversee our internal audit function, ensuring comprehensive risk-based audit coverage. The Director of Internal Audits will play a pivotal role in evaluating our governance, risk management, and internal control systems. This position is responsible for planning, executing, and reporting on a variety of operational and regulatory compliance audits and reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and execution of the Internal Audit Workplan, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Oversee audit processes, ensuring adherence to departmental standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with the Office of Inspector General and Medicaid Inspector General standards.
• Act as a key liaison between internal departments, including Executive Management and Compliance Officers.
• Conduct audits on medical record documentation to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Present audit findings and recommendations to Executive Management, fostering a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of internal audit professionals, promoting professional growth and accountability.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes through ongoing professional development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or a related field is required.
• At least 10 years of experience in a supervisory role within auditing, preferably in healthcare.
• In-depth knowledge of CPT and ICD-9/10 codes, CMS Guidelines, and federal and state compliance regulations.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct thorough audits and assessments.
• Proven ability to manage and lead teams, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and related auditing software.
• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Physical Requirements:
