Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Epic Billing Analyst to join our dynamic team in Farmingdale, specializing in optimizing the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system for billing and revenue cycle management. This role is crucial for ensuring seamless financial operations within the healthcare sector, providing an excellent opportunity to leverage your expertise in a challenging and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Configuration and Optimization: Configure and maintain Epic's Resolute Professional Billing or Hospital Billing modules to streamline processes related to charges, claims, and payment processing.
  • Workflow Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analyses of current workflows, facilitating improvements and implementing effective application solutions.
  • Support and Troubleshooting: Serve as the primary support contact for end-users, addressing application issues and providing technical guidance.
  • Implementation and Upgrades: Lead or support system implementations, upgrades, and ensure adherence to industry standards such as ICD-10.
  • Collaboration: Act as a liaison between IT, finance, billing, and other departments to customize systems meeting organizational objectives.
  • Testing and Documentation: Design, test, and document system upgrades and workflow modifications.
  • Reporting: Generate and analyze reports to extract valuable healthcare data insights.
  • Training: Work with training teams to develop materials and strategies for new application features and changes.
  • On-Call Support: Participate in on-call rotations to support a 24/7 production environment.

Essential Skills:

  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Epic's Resolute Billing modules and related functionalities.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Competence in leading meetings, managing tasks, and maintaining project documentation.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of precision in system configuration and ensuring data integrity.
  • Healthcare IT Knowledge: Understanding of healthcare revenue cycles, clinical workflows, and regulations such as HIPAA.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or related field. An Associate's degree with equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in healthcare information systems, with a preference for Epic or similar applications.
  • Certification: Epic certification in relevant modules is highly preferred, with a possibility of obtaining certification within a specified timeframe.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
