Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE)-

Job Description

We are hiring Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) with 2–5 years of experience in customer-facing technical roles to help drive the technical side of our sales motion end-to-end.

This is a high-agency role for engineers who don’t wait to be pulled into deals. You’ll proactively partner with Account Executives, guide customers through technical evaluations, build proof-of-concepts, and unblock adoption at fast-moving, AI-native companies.

You’ll operate as a trusted technical advisor to engineers and product leaders, owning solution design, demos, and implementation planning while influencing how the FDE function evolves as we scale.

Pay

• Base Salary: $180,000 – $250,000
• Equity: Competitive
• Visa: Sponsorship available on a case-by-case basis (no new H-1Bs)
  
  

Location

• Hybrid: 2–3 days/week in office
• Cities: New York City or San Francisco
• Must be located in or willing to relocate to SF or NYC
  
  

Responsibilities: 

• Act as a technical advisor to engineers and product leaders
• Lead technical evaluations: requirements gathering, use-case assessment, solution design
• Deliver custom demos, build proof-of-concepts, and create implementation plans
• Proactively drive customer momentum through evaluation and onboarding
• Anticipate and resolve technical blockers before they stall deals
• Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Developer Success, and Engineering
• Help shape and mature the FDE function as an early team member
  
  

Qualifications

• 2–5 years experience in a customer-facing technical role (Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, FDE, Solutions Architect)
• Direct experience working with customers
• Experience selling to developers or technical buyers
• Actively codes and can build across APIs and modern web stacks
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Copilot, Replit)
• Comfortable driving technical conversations independently (not AE-dependent)
