SEO Operations Manager
SEO Operations Manager
We're looking for a SEO Operations Manager to own the systems, workflows, and execution that power SEO for 190+ law firm clients nationwide.
This isn't a "set the strategy and delegate" role. You'll be hands-on in accounts while building the operational infrastructure that lets our team scale without sacrificing quality. You'll inherit a talented team of 4–6, expand it with new hires, and turn a great crew into a machine that delivers measurable client outcomes.
You'll sit alongside our Director of SEO as a peer, owning the SOPs, prioritization, QA standard, backlink efforts, client reporting, and more.
Salary: $90,000 - $100,000
Benefits: 401k, health, vision, dental, PTO
Location: If in LA: hybrid remote, otherwise remote with travel to LA (1 week for training upon onboarding, 2-4x/year thereafter)
What You'll Own
- Technical SEO systems – audits, site health, crawl management, and structured workflows that don't rely on tribal knowledge
- Local SEO – GMB optimization, local pack strategy, citation management, and review systems at scale
- Website launches – pre-launch audits, post-launch QA, and technical oversight for migrations to ensure ranking stability
- QA standards – every deliverable gets checked before it touches a client account
- Backlink development – strategy, vendor management, and quality control
- Team development – hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management with a focus on building nearshore capacity
- Documentation – if it's not written down, it doesn't exist. You'll create and enforce this standard.
- Research, testing & iteration – structured experimentation, documented results, and continuous improvement of what's working
- Client outcomes – rankings are a means to an end. You care about leads, calls, and cases signed.
You Should Apply If
- You have 8+ years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally in legal or other high-stakes lead-gen verticals
- You’ve worked agency-side or in a true multi-client environment, managing dozens to hundreds of active accounts
- You’ve built, managed, or scaled offshore / nearshore SEO teams, not just freelancers
- You’re fluent in technical SEO, local SEO (GBP), and link acquisition—not just content strategy
- You think in systems, workflows, and repeatable processes, not one-off wins
- You stay actively current on algorithm changes and can explain how they changed execution
- You document everything—tests, decisions, SOPs, and results
- You can set direction and earn buy-in, even when introducing process or change
- You challenge ideas with data, not opinions or SEO folklore
- You bring low ego and high standards
- You’re willing to contribute thought leadership through internal training, playbooks, and external positioning that elevates Matador as a leader in legal SEO
