About the Role
We’re hiring a frontend-focused Product Engineer to own the visual quality, interaction patterns, and overall polish of our core application.
This is a front-of-the-front-end role. Your mission is to ensure the product feels best-in-class for lawyers using AI-powered workflows—clean, intuitive, fast, and thoughtfully designed. You’ll focus on the final 10% that separates “works” from “excellent.”
You’ll work closely with engineers, product leaders, and internal legal experts to ship highly polished features that unblock one of our biggest bottlenecks: frontend feature completion. This is a hands-on role at a fast-moving startup where your taste, judgment, and execution will directly shape the product our users touch every day.
What You’ll Do
-
Own frontend features end-to-end, from concept through production
-
Refine UI details including spacing, typography, motion, states, and transitions
-
Design and implement thoughtful micro-interactions and feedback patterns
-
Partner closely with product, engineering, and internal domain experts to deliver high-quality experiences
-
Improve and evolve component quality, consistency, and usability across the application
-
Make independent UX and UI decisions when designs are ambiguous or evolving
-
Raise the bar for frontend quality, polish, and execution speed across the team
Must-Have Qualifications
-
2+ years of experience building modern web applications
-
Strong frontend skills with React, Vue, or Svelte
-
Clear design sense and strong visual judgment
-
Experience refining UI details and micro-interactions
-
Ability to own frontend features end-to-end with minimal oversight
-
Startup experience (early-stage or growth-stage strongly preferred)
-
Demonstrated signal of excellence through at least one of the following:
-
Strong startup track record
-
Top-tier academic background
-
Impressive personal projects or portfolio
-
Meaningful open-source contributions
-
-
Willing and able to work fully on-site in NYC
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
-
Experience with Tailwind CSS
-
Familiarity with Bun or alternative JavaScript runtimes
-
Exposure to AI/ML-powered product features
-
Experience collaborating closely with design or product teams
-
Performance optimization experience
-
Ownership or evolution of component systems or design systems
-
Comfort shaping UX decisions independently without full design specs
Why This Role
-
High ownership and direct impact on a core product
-
A craft-first frontend role—not a generic implementation position
-
Close collaboration with leadership and domain experts
-
Competitive compensation, equity, and relocation support
-
Opportunity to shape how professionals interact with AI every day
