Assistant Controller

Summary:

Our client is seeking an experienced and adaptable accounting and finance leader to partner with the Corporate Controller, providing support across technical accounting, reinsurance accounting, accounting policy, internal controls, and tax compliance. This role requires a strategic professional who excels in a fast-paced environment and can operate effectively across multiple areas of the finance function.

Location: Sandy Springs, GA

Salary: $130,0000 - $150,000

Onsite/Hybrid: In-office Monday–Thursday, hybrid Friday only

Responsibilities:

• Lead technical accounting research and application, ensuring compliance with US GAAP (especially ASC 944 – Insurance) and regulatory standards.
• Provide analytical support for the monthly financial reporting package.
• Support the financial close process and preparation of financial disclosures.
• Develop, maintain, and update accounting policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA required – please verify credential and state(s)
• 4 years of progressive accounting experience
• Big 4 or national accounting firm experience preferred
