Qualifications
• At least five years of experience managing a P&L including budget development; experience leading
multi-site sales and operations in sterile and non-sterile compounding pharmacy
• At least five years of experience directly managing people including hiring, developing, motivating,
and directing people as they work; experience in leading team efforts within highly matrixed
organizations
• Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues as well as recommending and
implementing strategies to resolve problems
• Demonstrated success with meeting financial goals and objectives
• Ability to manage rapid growth and establish training, orientation, and team building areas
• Knowledgeable in compliance of 50 states pharmacy licenses and regulations
• Knowledge of nursing, pharmacy, and medical practices/procedures
• Experience with planning, developing, implementing, and interpreting programs, goals, objectives,
policies and procedures
• Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers which includes meeting
quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction
• Experience evaluating information to determine compliance with standards, laws, and regulations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Extensive knowledge of IV products and Knowledge of USP 797, 795, 800 and GMPs
• IV compounding utilizing aseptic techniques
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with staff and senior management
• BS/Pharm, PharmD, MBA
Responsibilities
• Manage a team of licensed pharmacists and certified technicians trained on Pharmacies Standard
Operating Procedures
• Responsible for overseeing operation, quality assurance and regulatory compliance, human resource
function, customer service, financial review and reporting
• Responsible for establishing workflow required for pharmacy operations and ensuring compliance
with all SOPs
• Develops and maintains strong customer service relationships
• Coordinates new customer start up
• Responsible for Local, State and Federal regulatory compliance, including Board of Pharmacy
requirements, USP 797 standards and GMP’s
• In coordination with senior management, sales and support services, develops the strategic plan,
including establishing long and short term goals
• Responsible for all employee related activities, including hiring, coaching and evaluating job
performance, etc
• Hire, train, supervise, motivate and evaluate staff
• Responsible for completing reports including monthly financial review and operations reports
• In addition, Director of Pharmacy Operations will be responsible for the organization and
implementation of policies and procedures that are established, including lean best practices across all
pharmacies
• Evaluates the pharmacy footprint for opportunities for efficiency and quality improvements
• Collaborates cross functionally as new service offerings are evaluated to assist in developing the
operational workflow
• Monitors Pharmacy Operations performance to identify individual or departments not performing at
optimal levels and then helps assist in a plan to address
• Ensures compliance with local and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and corporate policies
to drive effectiveness and consistency in operations
• Assists leadership in developing processes to effectively monitor day-to-day pharmacy operations
• Drives workflows to ensure accurate and timely dispensing of quality pharmacy services is
consistently delivered to all customers/residents through effective service leadership and customer
skills
• Reviews and evaluates each pharmacy's performance on a continuing basis and establishes proper
measures of performance
• Counsels leadership on execution of programs and provides direction for modification in work plans
or implementation of contingency plans in accordance with prevailing business conditions when
necessary
• Develops and communicates specific strategies/objectives to accomplish the goals of more efficient
pharmacy operations to Senior Operations leadership
• Shares information with staff regarding their gains and commitment to achieve goals
