3019N Manufacturing Operations Manager

 Our client, a Toronto, ON based furniture OEM, is looking for an Operations Manager.

You would be in charge of several supervisors and departments, 40 to 60 workers, and the operation of its single daytime shift. This position reports to a VP. Products are assembled on the plant floor, with some manufactured parts coming in from suppliers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Overseeing the department supervisors.
• Continuous improvement re product assembly / processes.
• Traceability of materials.
• Supply chain - scheduling, ordering, shipping (along with Engineering VP).
• Packaging, warehousing, working with Sales.

 REQUIREMENTS:

• B.Eng. (Industrial Engineering or related).
• >6 years managing operations or supervising a shop floor.
• Background in manufacturing of furniture preferred.
• ***** Light assembly experience - not someone with extensive metal extrusion, plastic injection molding or lLaser cutting experience.
• Continuous improvement.
• Tracking new materials and subassemblies from the beginning to the end of the manufacturing process.
