Fast-paced manufacturer is hiring a Sr. Accounting Manager to lead a team of tenured accounting professionals. As the Sr. Accounting Manager, you will report to the Controller and will be responsible for the following tasks:
 
  • General Ledger & Month-End Close: Oversee and actively participate in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Ensure the accurate and timely booking of all necessary journal entries in accordance with GAAP and company policies.

  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Lead the comprehensive monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.

  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervise, mentor, and develop a team that includes a Financial Analyst, Accounts Payables, and Accounts Receivables.

  • Accounts Payables: Oversee the efficient processing of accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely payments, proper expense coding, and tax compliance.

  • Cost Accounting Support: Assist with cost accounting related to standard cost development, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.

  • SOX Compliance & Internal Controls: Ensure strict adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and maintain internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR).

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis Support: Contribute to the preparation of various financial reports and analyses and assist in identifying trends and providing insights into financial performance.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process efficiencies, automation, and improvements within the accounting department.

  • Financial Statement Review: Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects as requested.

  • Backup and Support: Have the potential to learn key controller functions and provide backup as needed.

 
Qualified candidates should be customer focused, proactive, have a sense of urgency, be resourceful, assertive and flexible with their work duties. This is a hands-on managerial role.  The qualified individual will be open to doing presentations at both managerial and staff levels. There is minimal time spent on the manufacturing floor in this role, and this position requires less than 5% travel. REQUIREMENTS for the Sr. Accounting Manager:
1. Bachelor's degree in a related field, ideally accounting or finance 
2. At least 5-10 years of similar manufacturing accounting experience
3. Experience providing daily direction to others 
4. Experience contributing to month-end and year-end closing 
5. Experience contributing to the budgeting and forecasting processes 
6. Experience with balance sheet reconciliation 
7. Strong financial analysis skills
8. ERP experience 
9. Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs 

Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. CPA or other certifications 
2. Automotive supplier experience  
3. Power BI 
4. Cost accounting skills 
5. SOX compliance 
6. Payroll experience
