General Manager | Manufacturing Operations

The Role in Focus:
We are looking for an energetic “Change Agent”—a leader who doesn’t just manage from an office but thrives on the production floor. You will have full oversight of our Tiffin facility, managing the site P&L and directing a cross-functional team across Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and EHS.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Cultural Leadership & Team Development
    • The “Buy-In” Factor: Be a constant, visible presence on the manufacturing floor to create alignment with the company vision and foster genuine camaraderie.
    • Energy & Charisma: Infuse the position with passion and character, acting as a spark plug for change and a motivator for the entire production team.
    • Active Mentorship: Coach and develop direct and indirect reports to exceed individual goals; build a formal succession plan to ensure long-term site stability.
    • Consistent Accountability: Maintain consistent management practices and hold leaders accountable by improving the pace of communication through structured daily and weekly meetings.
  2. Operational Strategy & Execution
    • P&L & Project Oversight: Drive site profitability and oversee project management, ensuring improvements on the production floor are executed with precision.
    • Advanced CapEx Leadership: Lead Capital Expenditure projects from the ground up—performing rigorous research, cost justification, and due diligence to ensure cost-effective transitions.
    • Scheduling & Capacity: Partner with the scheduling team to deeply understand current and future capacity, optimizing the process for maximum efficiency.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead and participate in meetings across multiple departments to ensure plant projects and Continuous Improvement (CI) activities are well-planned and smoothly executed.
  3. Data-Driven Continuous Improvement
    • KPI Management: Establish, monitor, and improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure the plant meets its delivery and quality standards.
    • Process Optimization: Review delivery standards, evaluate on-time delivery (OTD), and optimize product flow through group-led CI activities.
    • Data Literacy: Value provided data by reviewing work areas and running necessary reports to determine the most effective path forward for improvements.
    • Sustainability: Audit operational consistency to ensure that process improvements are sustainable and that the plant operates at a high standard every day.

REQUIREMENTS for the General Manager:
• Bachelor’s degree highly preferred; experience will be considered in lieu of degree
• Minimum of five years of similar manufacturing operations management experience
• Experience overseeing direct and indirect reports
• Experience overseeing multiple facets of manufacturing (production, maintenance, engineering, quality, etc.)
• Proven track record of measurable continuous improvement accomplishments
• Project management experience, including timelines and budgets
• ERP experience
• P&L experience
• Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel
 
Skills preferred but NOT required:
• Formal Lean and/or Six Sigma training or certifications
• Metalworking experience
• Experience overseeing a multi-shift production environment
