The Role

As a Personal Lines Broker, you will build and manage your own book of business while delivering personalized insurance solutions to individuals and families. This role is commission-based and ideal for someone motivated by growth, flexibility, and the opportunity to provide exceptional service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect, generate, and convert personal lines leads

  • Prepare and deliver quotes quickly and accurately

  • Recommend suitable coverages based on each client’s unique needs

  • Use effective follow-up strategies to close business

  • Ensure a seamless and professional client experience from start to finish

  • Build long-term relationships to support strong retention and referrals

  • Maintain compliance with underwriting guidelines, policies, and regulatory standards

  • Manage required documents, client records, and payment coordination

  • Meet and exceed monthly sales and business quality targets

  • Identify cross-sell opportunities across the brokerage's full range of products


What You Bring

Must-Haves:

  • Valid RIBO license (or OTL with willingness to convert)

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in personal lines insurance sales

  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, close, and retain clients

  • Strong personal network and lead generation skills

  • Solid knowledge of personal insurance products (home, auto, etc.)

  • Degree or Insurance Diploma from a recognized Canadian institution

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English

  • Reside in the Greater Ottawa Area

  • Tech-savvy and comfortable using digital tools and platforms

Nice-to-Haves:

  • CAIB, CIP, or FCIP designations

  • Knowledge of commercial insurance

  • Fluency in additional languages

Earnings Potential

This is a Commission Only role based on new and renewal business. Actual earnings vary by performance, but approximate annual potential is:

  • Year 1: $40,000 – $60,000+

  • Year 2: $60,000 – $90,000+

  • Year 3: $80,000 – $100,000+
