Construction Account Managers work in partnership with Construction Producers and group members to provide attentive, effective client service, reinforcing and developing the client/broker relationship.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·         Negotiation and placement of new business, renewals and remarkets. 
·         Organization, presentation and/or delivery of materials to underwriters including any necessary overview to ensure their valid interpretation of the risk.
·         Provide formal binding/renewal instructions to underwriters upon advice from producer for agreed upon coverages remembering that time is of the essence.
·         Issue binder of insurance pending receipt of formal policy, invoice & abeyance files and follow up for policies.
·         Evaluate marketing submissions including making suggestions and/or recommendations for revisions to specifications if warranted.
·         Complete review and analysis of quotations received.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   
·         Record new business activity in monthly quote logs and update as required.
·         Provide comparisons to the producer, highlighting enhancements and/or limitations for renewals in order for the producer to proceed with the development of presentations to new and existing clients, including creating comparison spreadsheets as needed.
·         Issue finance quotes/contracts when required.
·         Review assigned renewal lists with producers 90 days prior to renewal, order renewals from insurers 60 days before renewal, anticipate requests for updated information and/or applications and/or additional renewal information for clients
·         Provide automobile quotations using insurer website quoting tools or by submitting to underwriter to quote, when requested.
·         Provide liability cards, application and commercial vehicle supplement (if required) for completion to producer when binding required.
·         Set up the file & abeyance and make sure the application is completed and submitted to Insurer within the applicable binding period.
·         Order endorsements from insurers when producer or client requests changes to policies.
·         Invoice and check the endorsement when it comes in.
·         Take calls from clients and deal with queries as fully as possible before referring to the producer in order to build and reinforce the service relationship with the client.
·         Issue certificates of insurance as requested, with copies to insurer and file.
·         Respond to lienholder/lessor/mortgagee requests for copies of insurance policies.
·         Detailed documentation of all calls, correspondence and transactions in the system.
·         Provide back up for the producer and for other construction group and claims representatives by taking necessary information from callers/visitors.
 

Practice Group Contribution includes:

·                 Liaise with Practice Leader and consult where needed with other practice group members
·                 Share Insurer and product information with all group members, manager, producers & partners.
·                 Establish and develop rapport and strong working relationships with underwriters and insurance company representatives.

 

Responsibility for assigned client portfolios includes:

 

General Responsibilities

·         Maintenance of proper file documentation, applications where needed and summaries to ensure information is readily accessible by others, in accordance with procedures
·         Assist in updating the marketing files and information on the computer system.
·         Assist with balancing of portfolios, with attention given to market share, mix of business and particular appetites of various Insurers
·         Diligent observation of and respect for RIBO Code of Conduct and Privacy policy and procedures in place, in all aspects of professional conduct
·         Contribute and maintain professional atmosphere and appearance of the office.
·         Participate in continuing education programs as available (also required by RIBO).
·         Other projects and/or duties as needed and requested by management.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Experience with insurance software is required, Experience with Acturis is an asset
·         RIBO license is required
·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
·         Existing knowledge of insurance products, industry regulations and underwriting processes is an asset
·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office
3 Years Min Experience
