Job Description: Plant Controller Nationwide

Richard & Associates HR is partnering with manufacturing organizations nationwide to identify experienced Plant Controllers. Our clients operate plants across the country and need finance leaders who are as comfortable on the plant floor as they are in the numbers.

The Plant Controller serves as the financial leader for the plant, partnering with operations leadership on cost, performance, and planning.

Responsibilities:

• Lead plant accounting functions including month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Own standard costing, cost analysis, and variance reporting (material, labor, overhead)
• Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting for the plant
• Analyze inventory, capital spending, and operational KPIs; explain results to plant and corporate leadership
• Maintain internal controls and support audits
• Partner with plant management on continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives
• Support ERP accuracy and financial reporting integrity

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CMA a plus)
• Plant Controller or senior plant accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Deep cost accounting and standard costing experience
• ERP experience and advanced Excel skills
• Strong communication skills and a hands-on, floor-present style

Compensation: $110,000–$180,000 depending on plant size, location, and experience. Relocation assistance may be available depending on location. All inquiries are confidential.
