Our client is a key player in the automotive industry, specializing in designing and producing sensor, connectivity, and electrification solutions with a strong commitment to innovation and global sustainability. 

Join a new and growing team as their Product Development Engineer! This will be a hybrid role located in Greenville, SC, after initial training in Germany/Asia. 

The ideal candidate will be an engineer with high-voltage connector systems experience in the automotive industry. 

 

Summary: 

As the Product Development Engineer, you will immerse yourself in the global and innovative automotive industry, tackling projects focused on developing high-voltage connector systems.  

 

Tasks: 

  • Development and design of innovative high-voltage connection systems, from the idea to series production (e.g. terminals, housings, charging inlets, charging couplings). 

  • Researching and introducing innovative manufacturing technologies (e.g. EMPT, ultrasonic welding, automation, etc.). 

  • Implementation of new development concepts based on your market knowledge, analyses, and future trends. 

  • Coordination of design & development concepts with the product design team, product management and other interdisciplinary functions. 

  • Leading root cause analysis using common problem-solving methods (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, etc.) 

 

Requirements: 

  • Engineering degree or similar. 

  • Experience in the product development of high-voltage (HV) connector systems in the automotive environment based on the IATF 16949 standard. 

  • Strong knowledge in the application of Six Sigma/Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodology in the development of technology products and processes. 

  • Experience in the manufacturing process of HV connectors (using DFM & FMEA) and corresponding industry standards (e.g. LV 214, USCAR 2, LV 215). 

  • CAD software experience preferred. 

  • English language proficiency.
