They are seeking a skilled Tooling Technician to join their team at their plant Northeast of Atlanta, GA.

This role would be ideal for a Tooling Technician at a tool shop looking to move into manufacturing.

You will be part of an exciting project launch for a new model build planned for the end of this year.

Summary

As Tooling Technician you will be maintaining and repairing injection molds, supporting the production floor, and ensuring tooling equipment and areas are managed safely and efficiently through both preventative and reactive maintenance.

Tasks:

·       Conduct daily preventative maintenance on molds, including cleaning and greasing while installed in injection molding machines.

·       Repair mold cavities and cores affected by damage or wear.

·       Document any changes to molds, inserts, or parts, and maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.

·       Analyze and address basic mold issues such as flashing, galling, venting, and cooling problems.

·       Assemble, repair, inspect, clean, and polish molds with precision and care, focusing on critical surfaces.

·       Provide daily support to the process team as needed.

·       Utilize machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments for repairs and maintenance.

·       Troubleshoot and repair multi-zone hot runner manifolds, including Incoe and Synventive systems with valve gates.

·       Some travel: to national and international tool shops

Requirements:

·       5+ years of experience in tooling and mold repair.

·       Proficient in operating lathe, milling machine, surface grinder, and other workshop tools.

·       Experience with disassembling and assembling molds.

·       Knowledge of hot runner systems.

·       Strong team player with self-motivation and independence.

·       Basic computer skills and familiarity with relevant workshop tools.
