Vehicle Technician
Job Overview
We are hiring an engineering-focused Vehicle Technician to support the maintenance, repair, diagnostics, and readiness of an autonomous vehicle fleet in Las Vegas.
This role is a strong fit for an experienced automotive technician with solid mechanical knowledge, strong diagnostic skills, and experience supporting complex vehicle systems in a fast-paced technical environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Configure, set up, maintain, diagnose, and sign off on vehicles for safe on-road operation
• Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and fleet rework
• Travel locally as needed to support vehicle setup, diagnostics, and maintenance
• Partner with the Shop Foreman to ensure vehicles are ready for testing and demonstrations
• Diagnose vehicle issues and escalate complex problems to engineering teams as needed
• Coordinate and drive the repair process from diagnosis through resolution
• Develop diagnostic test plans to support troubleshooting and validation
• Maintain detailed service records and quality field reports
• Keep shop facilities, tools, and workspaces organized and in excellent working condition
• Assist with parts inventory, tracking, and organization
• Support internal teams and stakeholders with a high-quality service experience
Requirements
• 2–4 years of professional technician experience
• Extensive knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair methods, tools, materials, and systems
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented work style
• Ability to pass a background check, MVR check, and drug screen
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
• Current forklift operator certification
• Ability to operate forklift and/or gantry equipment
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in an automotive engineering or research lab
• Experience with CAN systems
• Ability to read wiring diagrams
• Soldering experience
• Experience towing car haulers or large trailers
• Technical trade school certificate or Associate Degree in automotive repair
• Autonomous vehicle industry experience
• Ability to travel locally and occasionally nationally
