Service Technician
Job Overview
We are hiring Service Technicians to support the maintenance, repair, and day-to-day readiness of an autonomous electric vehicle fleet in Austin. This is a hands-on automotive role where you will perform routine maintenance, light repairs, inspections, damage assessments, and field support to help keep vehicles safe and operational.
This is a strong fit for an experienced automotive technician who is detail-oriented, safety-focused, comfortable working independently, and interested in working around advanced autonomous and electric vehicle technology.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess and document vehicle damage following road incidents
• Perform minor onsite repairs and coordinate larger repairs with partner service centers
• Complete scheduled maintenance and inspections, including brakes, fluids, A/C, tires, and related vehicle systems
• Monitor vehicle condition and identify potential issues before they affect operations
• Support vehicle evacuations, towing, and incident recovery when needed
• Transport vehicles for service appointments, repairs, and cleaning
• Help keep the fleet operational, clean, and road-ready
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant shop environment
• Accurately document maintenance, repairs, damage, and vehicle condition
Requirements
• Prior experience as an automotive technician or in a similar mechanical role
• Strong understanding of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and EV fundamentals
• Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
• Comfortable working around autonomous vehicle technology
• Ability to perform hands-on maintenance and repair work in a fast-paced fleet environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience as an EV Technician
• Experience working with ADAS-equipped vehicles
• Dealership, fleet maintenance, automotive repair, or similar technician experience
• Experience diagnosing mechanical or electrical vehicle issues
• Familiarity with autonomous vehicles or advanced vehicle technology
