About the Team
The Localization team develops the systems that provide precise position and orientation information to autonomous vehicles and delivery robots. The team works across localization, SLAM, sensor fusion, optimization, point cloud processing, distributed data processing, and robotics software.
The team is responsible for achieving centimeter-level positioning and highly accurate orientation across challenging operating environments.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior or Staff Software Engineer to help build and improve localization and mapping systems for autonomous vehicles.
You will work on both on-board localization algorithms and cloud-based mapping systems, improving localization precision and reliability while optimizing SLAM-based processes for large-scale LiDAR map building.
This is an opportunity to work on challenging robotics problems involving sensor fusion, mathematical optimization, SLAM, and large-scale data processing.
What You'll Do

Develop cloud mapping systems with graph optimization at their core.

Develop sensor-fusion localization systems combining LiDAR, IMU, GNSS, and other sensor measurements.

Improve localization accuracy and reliability in challenging environments.

Develop and optimize SLAM-based processes for large-scale LiDAR map generation.

Support other engineering and operations teams with localization-related issues.

Analyze data and experiment with algorithms to improve system performance.
What You'll Need

3+ years of professional software engineering experience.

Strong C++ programming skills.

Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software design patterns.

Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively across teams and translate technical ideas into reliable production software.

Strong ownership, planning, and execution skills.
Nice to Have

Experience in robotics, localization, or mapping.

Strong knowledge of EKF, sensor fusion, SLAM, calibration, ICP, or point cloud processing.

Experience with graph optimization, pose graphs, or bundle adjustment.

Strong mathematical background, particularly in optimization, probability, and mechanics.

Experience turning mathematical concepts into practical algorithms.

Publications, hackathon achievements, or programming competition experience.

Interest in following and implementing the latest advances in robotics and autonomous systems.
