Project Engineer*

We are seeking a Project Engineer to provide technical and engineering support in the development, design, and execution of capital and maintenance projects within a chemical or refining environment. This role will collaborate across multiple departments, manage project timelines, and ensure successful implementation from concept through completion.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering (Civil or Mechanical preferred)
• 2–3 years of experience in project management within a petrochemical, refining, or chemical processing environment
• Knowledge of project planning, cost estimation, and scheduling
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project)
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project design specifications from conceptual ideas with minimal direction
• Prepare and conduct project review presentations to align with stakeholders and refine project details
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure design, safety, and operational requirements are met
• Prepare preliminary and detailed cost estimates, justifications, and project documentation for management approvals
• Develop and manage project schedules to ensure on-time completion while optimizing available resources
• Monitor all phases of project execution, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and timelines
• Coordinate and oversee contractors, consultants, vendors, and design services as needed
• Specify and procure materials, equipment, and services, ensuring compliance with design codes and process requirements
• Document all phases of design, construction, and installation to maintain quality and regulatory compliance
• Lead or participate in the Management of Change (MOC) process, including Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR)
• Provide post-installation follow-up, including equipment documentation, preventive maintenance planning, spare parts acquisition, and lessons learned
• Support shutdown planning, engineering specifications, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Maintenance and Engineering departments
