Project Engineering Manager
Chemical leader hiring a Project Engineering Manager that will serve as the technical leader for large-scale capital projects, providing engineering oversight from project development through startup and operational handover. This role ensures successful execution by integrating engineering disciplines, EPC contractors, licensors, vendors, and internal stakeholders while driving technical excellence, process safety, and project performance. The position also plays a key role in developing standardized engineering systems and best practices that support the company's continued global growth.
Responsibilities:
--- Lead engineering and technical execution of major capital projects from concept through startup and handover.
--- Provide oversight across process, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation & controls, utilities, and infrastructure disciplines.
--- Manage technical interfaces with EPC contractors, licensors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
--- Develop and implement engineering standards, processes, and best practices to support project execution.
--- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, quality, and process safety requirements, including HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, and MOC activities.
--- Drive project integration, constructability, schedule adherence, and operational readiness.
--- Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and communicate project risks, status, and recommendations to leadership.
Qualifications:
--- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline preferred.
--- 10+ years of experience delivering large capital projects within chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, energy, or other process manufacturing industries.
--- Proven experience as a Project Engineering Manager, Technical Integrator, or similar leadership role on EPC projects.
--- Strong understanding of FEED, detailed design, construction, commissioning, startup, and operations handover.
--- Knowledge of process safety management, risk-based design, and engineering standards.
--- Demonstrated leadership, stakeholder management, and team development capabilities.
--- PE license or Chartered Engineer designation preferred.
