Resident Engineer (PE Required)

Overview:
An award-winning engineering and infrastructure client is seeking a Resident Engineer to support a wide range of building and infrastructure projects across Connecticut. This role will oversee field operations, construction activities, and project execution on rebuilding and new construction initiatives involving buildings, facilities, and structural systems.
Project Types:
- Building reconstruction and new construction (commercial, municipal, facilities)
- MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems installation and upgrades
- Bridge-related work (rehabilitation / reconstruction)
- Parking garages and structural facilities
- Salt storage facility/tank reconstruction
- General infrastructure and site development projects
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site leadership and oversight of construction activities
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and design teams
- Ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards
- Monitor schedules, budgets, and project progress
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders
- Prepare daily reports, field documentation, and progress updates
- Serve as the primary liaison between stakeholders and project teams
Qualifications:
- Active PE (Professional Engineer) license – REQUIRED Must have any type of engineer PE
- 7+ years of experience in construction oversight, inspection, or resident engineering
- Strong background in building construction, facilities, or infrastructure projects
- Experience with MEP systems and structural work preferred
- Ability to manage multiple project types simultaneously
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Preferred (Not Required):
- Experience with public-sector or municipal projects

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead multidisciplinary teams on structural and infrastructure projects

Oversee design, technical review, and engineering deliverables

Review AutoCAD drawings, plans, and specifications
