We are seeking an experienced Principal Engineering Designer to join a multidisciplinary team in Phoenix, AZ. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful, landmark projects throughout the Phoenix region while working alongside experienced professionals across multiple disciplines.

The ideal candidate will bring strong land development experience, technical expertise in grading and site design, and the ability to take projects from conceptual design through final plan preparation. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare grading plans from conceptual design through final construction documents.
  • Prepare and process maps and plans for subdivision and land development projects.
  • Perform and support roadway design, drainage design, and earthwork calculations.
  • Ensure project designs comply with applicable jurisdictional codes, standards, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Support projects throughout the design and approval process.
  • Apply knowledge of local and regional development requirements, preferably within Arizona.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in land development with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or equivalent.
  • Alternatively, candidates with approximately 8 years of relevant work experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop grading plans from conceptual design through final plans.
  • Experience preparing subdivision and land development plans, including:
    • Roadway design
    • Drainage design
    • Earthwork calculations
  • Strong knowledge of jurisdictional codes, standards, and procedures; Arizona experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is required.
  • EIT certification is preferred.
  • Ability or willingness to obtain an Arizona PE License within 12 months of hire is preferred.
