A well-established organization in Connecticut is seeking an MEP Engineer / Project Manager to support the redesign and modernization of building systems across an existing facility portfolio.
This role focuses on full-cycle MEP redevelopment, including upgrades to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within occupied and active-use buildings. The position offers strong visibility across design, coordination, and execution phases.
Key Responsibilities
MEP Design & Engineering
- Lead or support redesign of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems for building renovation projects
- Review existing system conditions and develop upgrade strategies
- Prepare design documents, drawings, and specifications
Project Management
- Manage multiple renovation projects from concept through construction
- Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and contractors
- Track schedules, budgets, and deliverables
Construction & Implementation
- Support construction activities including submittal review and site coordination
- Ensure systems are installed per design intent
- Participate in inspections, testing, and commissioning
Coordination & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations
- Interface with stakeholders across engineering, facilities, and operations teams
- Maintain project documentation and reporting
Qualifications
- Experience in MEP design and/or project management within building environments
- Background in facility upgrades, renovations, or capital improvement projects
- Familiarity with building systems (HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing)
- Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects
Preferred
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or working toward licensure
- Experience with public-sector or institutional buildings
- Knowledge of construction administration and field coordination
