Overview:
An award-winning infrastructure client is seeking a Construction Inspector Level II to support a federal roadway and infrastructure project involving trail reconstruction, bridge replacement, drainage, and site improvements.
This is a field-focused role supporting daily construction operations, contractor oversight, and compliance with federal standards.
Project Scope:
- Pedestrian bridge replacement
- Trail reconstruction and rehabilitation
- Culvert replacement
- Concrete approach reconstruction
- Site and access improvements
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily inspection of construction activities (traffic control, environmental, materials, methods)
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with plans/specs
- Review and validate daily reports and documentation
- Track and measure quantities, perform takeoffs
- Maintain Inspector Daily Reports (IDRs) and project diary
- Review materials, testing results, and QC procedures
- Coordinate scheduling and field activities
Required Experience:
- 2+ years (preferably more) in heavy highway / infrastructure inspection
- Strong experience with:
- Traffic control
- Erosion control
- Asphalt paving
- Grading & drainage
- Aggregate base/surface
- Retaining walls / riprap
- Ability to read plans, specs, and ensure compliance
Technical Skills:
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Scheduling tools (Primavera or similar preferred)
- Comfortable with reporting systems and documentation
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to work field hours, nights, and weekends if needed
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work in a federal project environment with strict compliance standards
