We are looking for an experienced Civil/Environmental Engineer (Professional Engineer – P.E.) to join a growing engineering team. This opportunity is well suited for a motivated professional with a background in sanitary and municipal engineering who is ready to take a leadership role in the planning, design, and management of infrastructure projects for both public and private-sector clients.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in wastewater collection and conveyance systems, pump stations, and wastewater treatment facilities, along with the ability to manage projects, support and mentor junior staff, and develop productive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the lead engineer on sanitary and municipal engineering projects throughout planning, design, and construction.
- Develop feasibility studies, engineering reports, planning documents, and technical analyses.
- Design wastewater collection and conveyance systems, pump stations, force mains, and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Perform hydraulic modeling, engineering calculations, and equipment sizing.
- Prepare construction drawings, technical specifications, cost estimates, and permit applications.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies and support environmental permitting activities.
- Manage projects through public bidding and provide construction administration and related services.
- Provide technical guidance, supervision, and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, municipalities, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, or the ability to obtain Pennsylvania licensure through reciprocity.
- Approximately 5–10 years of professional experience in sanitary and municipal engineering.
- Demonstrated experience with wastewater collection systems, conveyance infrastructure, pump stations, and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Familiarity with Pennsylvania environmental regulations, permitting processes, and municipal engineering practices.
- Experience with erosion and sediment control and stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs).
- Proficiency with relevant engineering and design software, including AutoCAD, EPA-SWMM, StormCAD, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
- Experience developing technical specifications and supporting or administering public bidding projects.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
