Project Manager – Structural Engineering (Buildings)

📍 Connecticut (Groton area + statewide projects)

A well-established, multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm (300+ employees) is seeking a Project Manager with a structural buildings background to support and lead a range of infrastructure and building projects across Connecticut.

This firm supports federal, state, municipal, and private clients across engineering, construction management, inspection, environmental, and technology services.

This is a high-impact role offering a blend of technical leadership, project delivery, and client-facing responsibility.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams on structural and infrastructure projects

  • Oversee design, technical review, and engineering deliverables

  • Review AutoCAD drawings, plans, and specifications

  • Prepare and manage construction documents and permitting packages

  • Support and oversee construction phase services and contract administration

  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and overall financial performance

  • Develop and maintain client relationships

  • Prepare cost estimates and project forecasts

  • Coordinate subconsultants and external partners

  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and staff

  • Support proposals, presentations, and business development efforts

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations


What They’re Looking For

  • Strong background in structural engineering (buildings)

  • Proven project management experience (technical + financial)

  • Experience with construction documentation and contract administration

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (additional software a plus)

  • Strong communication, leadership, and client-facing skills

  • Experience with cost estimating and proposal development


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering

  • PE License required

  • 6+ years of engineering experience

  • 3+ years in a Project Management role
