She Recruits is seeking an energetic, performance-driven Director of Emergency Services to lead a busy, high-acuity Emergency Department in a Magnet-recognized hospital. This role oversees clinical operations, staffing, budgeting, forecasting, patient throughput, and care delivery across a 28-bed ED with 35,000–45,000 annual visits. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of improving metrics, engaging teams, and driving operational and clinical excellence in high-volume emergency settings.
Role Overview:
The Director of Emergency Services is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and effective operational oversight of the Emergency Department. This includes staffing management, patient flow optimization, process improvement, budget oversight, regulatory readiness, and policy development. The Director fosters a culture of teamwork, accountability, and collaboration while aligning departmental performance with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead staffing, departmental operations, and clinical quality initiatives across the ED
• Drive key performance indicators, including throughput, patient satisfaction, safety, and quality metrics
• Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures to meet facility and departmental objectives
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and operational effectiveness
• Maintain regulatory compliance and readiness for trauma level and accreditation standards
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance of the department
• Support staff development, coaching, and engagement initiatives
• Promote a culture of patient-centered care and high reliability
• Manage relationships with physicians, nursing leadership, and executive teams
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
• Additional bachelor’s or approved education plan required
• Master’s degree preferred
• Minimum 1 year of applicable leadership experience required; 3+ years preferred
• Will consider:
– ED Directors with similar or larger high-volume ED experience
– Strong ED Managers who effectively run day-to-day operations at a large-volume ED
• Must show strong metrics, accomplishments, and performance improvement results on resume
• Energetic, team-oriented leadership style required
• RN license required
