She Recruits is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager for Behavioral Health to oversee day-to-day operations of an acute-care inpatient behavioral health unit. This leader will manage nursing staff, ensure safe and high-quality patient care, and promote a collaborative, therapeutic environment across all shifts.
Position Overview
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the direct supervision and operational leadership of the behavioral health nursing team, including shift supervisors and charge nurses. This role requires strong clinical judgment, team leadership, and the ability to guide staff through complex patient care situations while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in behavioral health.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee daily operations of the Behavioral Health Nursing Department across all shifts
• Supervise, coach, and support House Supervisors and Charge Nurses
• Ensure safe, consistent, and patient-centered behavioral health care
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, behavioral health regulations, and accreditation standards
• Partner with hospital leadership to implement quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Support staffing, scheduling, and resource management for the Behavioral Health Unit
• Promote de-escalation techniques and safe crisis intervention practices
• Foster a culture of teamwork, communication, and professional growth
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Minimum 2 years of acute-care Behavioral Health leadership (Manager, Supervisor, or Clinical Lead)
• Must have experience in an inpatient hospital Behavioral Health Unit
• Current RN license (state-specific or compact)
• Basic Life Support required within 30 days of hire
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification required within 30 days of hire
