The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for ensuring that personal and group performance aligns with the principles of a Healing Environment. This includes designing and implementing systems for effective work allocation, communication, resource management, and staff development. The DON fosters engagement through clear expectations, critical thinking, and supportive leadership, while maintaining compliance with long-term care regulations and organizational standards.

Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Preferred: Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field
Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license
Minimum: Three to five years of managerial experience
Minimum: Three to five years of experience in a Long-Term Care (LTC) setting
Preferred: Broad knowledge base of LTC regulations
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with medical staff, department leaders, and the public in a professional, courteous manner
Ability to remain effective under stress and handle confidential information with discretion
Strong leadership skills with the ability to foster staff empowerment, accountability, and growth

Tasks may involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues
