Warehouse Manager
Warehouse Manager will plan, organize and monitor the receiving, storage and distribution of all items produced and received, while ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so all items are located and distributed to proper departments and/or locations in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
§ Optimizes warehouse inventory efficiency by planning layout, product flows, space requirements and product handling systems.
§ Builds and monitors metrics for orders completions, times, picking, cycles.
§ Uses RF Smart or similar system to optimize processes and reporting
§ Works closely with other departments, locations and management to work towards continual improvement in warehousing and shipping processes.
§ Plans for busy season, slow season and day to day activities to maximize employee capacity and utilization.
§ Works with other locations, to plan transfer items and efficiency and cost as it relates to distributed warehouse utilization.
§ Works with Director of Logistics to plan for space and efficiency. Works with Sales to minimize warehouse outages and transfer order costs.
§ Fosters an environment of continuous improvement.
§ Leads and develops a team to deliver excellent customer service while controlling costs.
§ Arranges for appropriate equipment and racking to ensure the safe transport and storage of all materials.
§ Leads by engaging and mentoring employees, while maintaining a safe, healthy and fair work environment.
§ Promotes a culture of safety by ensuring all personnel are properly trained to perform assigned duties and comply with all safety regulations.
§ Demonstrate ability to cope with stress and maintain a pleasant and cooperative temperament with internal and external customers.
§ Demonstrate ability to perform mental tasks such as making decisions, learning, thinking rationally and exercising good judgment.
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
§ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or Industrial Management, Supply Chain, Logistics or related field, a plus.
§ 5-7 years of experience in warehouse or distribution environment, required.
§ 5+ years of managerial experience.
§ Experience with load/freight management, knowledge of supply chain practices and fulfillment operations.
§ Solid proven leadership, with excellent self-awareness and relationship building skills.
§ Strong written and oral skills.
§ Must be flexible and adapt quickly to changes.
§ Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
§ Excellent organization and time-management skills.
§ Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
