Position Overview
We are a growing industrial products manufacturer seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laser Cutting Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating advanced machinery to create precise metal components based on technical specifications. Core Responsibilities
· Set up, adjust, and efficiently operate a wide range of fabrication equipment to produce parts that meet exact specifications and quality standards.
· Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, labor time, and production data using manufacturing software systems.
· Perform precise measurements and inspections using various tools to ensure parts conform to requirements.
· Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to complete jobs accurately.
· Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and support the ongoing development of the fabrication area.
· Promote and follow all safety procedures, quality policies, and workplace organization standards on a daily basis.
· Work independently with strong time management while contributing positively to team goals.
· Complete additional tasks as needed to support production objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
· 1-2 years of hands-on experience in a fabrication or job shop setting.
· Demonstrated proficiency operating CNC Laser equipment, CNC Waterjet systems, CNC press brakes, metal rollers, rotary punch presses, coil straighteners and feeders, sanders, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, metal shears, ironworkers, and saws.
· Strong working knowledge of precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, scales, squares, angle finders, and height gauges.
· Ability to accurately read and understand engineering blueprints and technical documents.
· Familiarity with ERP systems for inventory and production tracking.
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Good mathematical skills including dimensions, quantities, and metric conversions.
· Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Certifications
Must be willing and able to successfully complete company-provided training and certification for forklift and overhead crane operation (essential function of the role). Training is provided.
Physical Requirements
The position requires standing and walking for most of the shift, frequent lifting and moving of heavy materials, and the use of hands for handling tools and parts. Good vision (including close vision, depth perception, and color recognition) is essential. Reasonable accommodations may be available for qualified individuals with disabilities.
Work Environment
This is a manufacturing facility position with exposure to moving machinery, metal particles, coolants, and varying noise levels. Appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn at all times.
