Location: Auburn Hills, MI
Overview
A leading provider of energy and infrastructure solutions is seeking a Project Delivery Consultant to support project development and execution across a regional portfolio. This role plays a key part in the pre-construction and development phases, working closely with sales, engineering, and delivery teams to shape projects from early concept through contract execution and transition into delivery.
This is a highly visible position responsible for estimating, planning, and developing project execution strategies, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Project Development & Execution Planning
- Lead development of project execution plans, schedules, and budgets during the pursuit phase
- Determine resource requirements and workforce planning to meet project milestones
- Support cost estimating, scheduling, and construction planning activities
- Develop billing structures and payment schedules; assist in negotiating favorable contract terms
- Ensure project setup accuracy including documentation, team structure, and systems alignment
Contracts, Risk & Change Management
- Manage scope definition and proactively identify and control scope changes
- Ensure all changes are properly documented and approved prior to execution
- Support contract compliance and ensure adherence to applicable codes and legal requirements
- Contribute to risk assessment, value engineering, and vendor selection strategies
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a key liaison during project development, maintaining strong client relationships
- Establish consistent customer touchpoints throughout the project lifecycle
- Communicate project status, risks, and performance updates to leadership and stakeholders
- Influence and guide clients through complex project decisions and delivery strategies
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with development managers, engineers, and construction teams to align project goals
- Coordinate with internal business units including technology, equipment, service, and lighting groups
- Support delivery teams during installation by providing guidance on design intent and execution strategy
- Assist in long-term resource planning and allocation across projects
Financial & Performance Oversight
- Support financial planning, forecasting, and reporting activities for the regional portfolio
- Contribute to achieving project margin, cash flow, and profitability targets
- Participate in post-project reviews and continuous improvement efforts
- Utilize internal tools for risk tracking, pipeline management, and project reporting
Industry & External Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships within the local contracting and subcontractor community
- Participate in industry organizations and networking opportunities
- Promote high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term partnership development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of progressive experience in project delivery, operations, or construction-related roles
- Strong background in project estimating, scheduling, and contract development
- Experience in energy solutions, infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects preferred
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex project environments
- Strong financial acumen, including cost control, margin management, and contract structuring
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in project scheduling tools (MS Project or similar)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with collaboration and document platforms (SharePoint, cloud-based systems, etc.)
- Familiarity with risk tracking, pipeline tools, and project reporting systems

Compensation
- Salary range: $112,100 – $168,400 (dependent on experience, skills, and market alignment)
