Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Safety & Compliance Manager to join our team in Little Rock. This pivotal role focuses on championing a proactive safety culture, ensuring adherence to industry regulations, and managing risk effectively. You will be instrumental in safeguarding our people, operations, and reputation by driving strategic safety initiatives and fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs aimed at accident prevention and risk reduction. Lead initiatives that promote safe behaviors and compliance with safety standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA guidelines. Oversee compliance activities related to transportation safety and warehouse operations.
- Incident Management: Investigate accidents and incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions. Manage drug and alcohol testing programs post-incident.
- Facility Safety: Conduct audits and inspections to uphold OSHA compliance, focusing on equipment safety, ergonomics, and material handling.
- Risk Management: Oversee the Worker’s Compensation Program, leading incident investigations and controlling claim costs. Analyze trends and report on key safety metrics.
- Training and Development: Design and deliver engaging safety training programs for all levels of employees. Lead safety orientations and coach leaders on accountability.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- 1 – 3 years of experience in Warehousing, Transportation, or Distribution Safety Management.
- Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop effective action plans.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including potential weekend shifts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Environmental Management, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field.
- 2 – 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Certifications such as CSP, CSHT, CIH, or CSHM.
