We are seeking a compassionate, driven, and collaborative Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our growing outpatient clinic in Tuscaloosa, AL. In this dynamic role, you will evaluate, design, and deliver individualized OT treatment plans for clients navigating developmental delays, sensory processing challenges, injuries, and physical disabilities. Working alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will empower clients to gain independence in their daily activities and achieve meaningful, long-term outcomes.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate & Assess: Conduct comprehensive assessments across sensory, motor, cognitive, and functional domains to establish baseline metrics and clinical goals.

  • Design Care Plans: Create individualized, evidence-based treatment programs aimed at restoring functional mobility and daily independence.

  • Execute Targeted Interventions:

    • Implement therapies for fine motor control, upper extremity strength, and range of motion.

    • Provide specialized sensory integration and processing therapy for pediatric patients.

    • Train clients on ADL skills, compensatory techniques, and adaptive device usage.

  • Educate & Empower: Train families and caregivers on home programs and adaptive strategies to maximize therapy outcomes.

  • Maintain Documentation: Complete high-quality, compliant documentation (evaluations, daily notes, and discharge summaries) within required timelines.

  • Collaborate: Coordinate with PTs, SLPs, COTAs, and physicians to ensure an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to care.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited institution.

  • Licensure: Active (or eligible for) Occupational Therapist license in the State of Alabama.

  • Certification: NBCOT Certification (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy).

  • Skills & Attributes:

    • Strong organizational and documentation skills.

    • High intrinsic motivation, adaptability, and self-initiative.

    • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative communication skills.

    • Experience with pediatric or adult outpatient populations (pediatric/sensory integration background is a plus).
