Metals Buyer – Manufacturing
Our client is a long-established, stable precision manufacturer in the Menomonee Falls area experiencing significant growth. As the business expands, they are adding purchasing capability to support a busy contract machining operation.
This is a hands-on manufacturing purchasing role with a strong emphasis on raw metals and materials used to produce precision machined components. If you understand buying metal bar stock and working with suppliers in a manufacturing environment, we'd like to know you.
The work may include:
- Purchase metal bar stock, raw materials and components used in machining operations
- Select suppliers based on price, quality, availability and performance
- Monitor material pricing and costs
- Manage purchase orders and supplier commitments
- Coordinate inbound freight and transportation
- Monitor supplier deliveries and address potential shortages or delays
- Resolve material quality, return and supplier issues
- Work closely with quality, production and other internal teams
- Maintain accurate purchasing information within an ERP system
- Support other purchasing, materials and production needs as the business grows
Experience purchasing metals, bar stock, raw materials, machined components, forgings, stampings or other materials used in metalworking/manufacturing would be particularly relevant.
Our client offers the stability of an established manufacturer combined with the opportunity created by substantial growth. This could be especially attractive to a buyer who enjoys being close to manufacturing, working directly with suppliers and seeing the impact of good purchasing decisions.
Interested? Tell us a little about what you've purchased and the manufacturing environments you've supported. We'd be glad to compare notes.
