Location: This full-time role is based in either our San Mateo or Campbell, California office. The position is in-office, with possible future flexibility depending on experience, performance, and trust built over time.

Note: Candidates must have prior family law paralegal experience. This is a firm requirement.

Job Description

  • Support attorneys in family law matters including custody, visitation, child support, spousal support, property division, and restraining order matters
  • Draft, format, and prepare pleadings, declarations, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents
  • Assist with case management, calendaring, deadlines, and document organization
  • Communicate with clients, courts, experts, and outside parties in a professional and compassionate manner
  • Organize and maintain case files, exhibits, and supporting documentation
  • Assist with trial preparation, hearing preparation, and discovery management
  • Coordinate the collection and review of financial records and other case-related materials
  • Help keep cases moving efficiently while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and responsiveness

Qualifications

  • Prior family law paralegal experience required
  • Strong drafting, document management, and case organization skills
  • Experience supporting attorneys in active family law matters
  • Strong communication skills and professional client manner
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and strong follow-through
  • Paralegal certificate is a plus, but practical family law experience is more important
  • California family law firm experience is strongly preferred
